The Life Development Process at Christ's Church
Over the last five years here at Christ' Church on the River I have been developing a series of classes designed to help people to come to Christ and fulfill God's purpose for their life. I'd love to claim credit for this idea - but actually it's Rick Warren's, as outlined in his book, "The Purpose Driven Church," and at many of his seminars. Click Here to learn more about his work at Saddleback Church. Currently we have 4 of what will be five classes that take you from where ever you are - even unsaved - through commitment to a church, the habits needed for spiritual maturity, ministry and outreach.
Classes are normally held on Sunday afternoon and evenings, and each one is about 3 hours long. Class One: Discovering Church Membership. This class details how to become a Christian, and the vision, philosophy of ministry, major beliefs of Christ's Church on the River. You must take this class before you can take any of the others. Class Two: Discovering Spiritual Maturity. The second step in the Life Development Process is learning and practicing the basic spiritual habits needed for spiritual growth. Prayer, Bible Study, a Quiet Time, Scripture Memorization, Small Groups and more are covered in this class. Class Three: Discovering Your Ministry. After committing to Christ, a church home and spiritual maturity, you're ready for ministry! Here you'll learn to discover your S.H.A.P.E., and how to understand what ministry God is calling you into. Ministry is the KEY to the abundant Christian life - and we hope to mobilize an army of believers serving God and their fellow men in the way the God created them to do. Class Four: Discovering Your Mission. After getting involved in Ministry it's time to really get serious about fulfilling your life mission. EVERY Crristian's life mission has at least one thing in common - fulfilling Christ's commission to reach everyone with the Gospel. This class teaches you how to share your faith in a way that's accurate and consistent with your personality and experiences. If you life in the area and would like more information about this dynamic process, or would like to sign up for a class, please call the office at 667-3891.
